ToolWorks is a Workshop Tool Management System that was designed to make the management of University student workshops, and tool rental businesses, easier and as paperwork-free as possible.

It is very similar to a library book management system, except that it has been tailored specifically for use with tools and other workshop equipment. It allows students to check tools in and out through the use of a quick and simple bar code system. It also allows workshop personnel to keep track of which equipment students have been trained on, and shows the students overall level of competence, so that workshop personnel can gauge how much supervision the student will require.

ToolWorks was created by Olaf Diegel. The software could relatively easily be adapted to include other features or suit different types of workshops. Please e-mail olaf.diegel@aut.ac.nz with any comments and / or suggestions for improvements.
